Informatie over battery chargers
Charging via shore power — the third charging method
In addition to solar panels and charging while driving, shore power is the third way to charge your house battery. At a campsite, in a marina, or at home, you connect the battery charger to the 230V mains. A good battery charger charges in multiple phases, adjusts the charging current to the battery's condition, and stops automatically when the battery is full.
Multi-stage charging — good for longevity
The Victron Blue Smart charges in multiple phases: first, fast charging at constant current, then slow topping up at constant voltage, then float charging to keep the battery level. This multi-stage charging process — also known as CC/CV charging — is the best way to fully and gently charge a battery and maximize its lifespan.
Adjustable charge profile — AGM or lithium
AGM and lithium each have their own optimal charging voltage and profile. Via the VictronConnect app, you set the battery type — the charger automatically adjusts its charging behavior. This way, you can be sure that your battery is always charged correctly.
IP65 — splash-proof for use in campers and boats
The Blue Smart is completely dust-tight and resistant to water jets from any direction. In a camper or boat, the charger is often located in an area where condensation or moisture occurs — IP65 means you don't have to worry about that.
Bluetooth and VictronConnect
The Blue Smart has built-in Bluetooth and works seamlessly with the VictronConnect app. Set the charge profile, view the charging status, and see the charging history via your phone — even if the charger is mounted in a hard-to-reach place.
